Now you can decide whether to buy their stock or not, and you are informed about the context.Software engineering work I personally did on this project:- Built the web-crawler / scraper for financial news aggregation (50K LoC 𝙍𝙪𝙨𝙩 + DynamoDB).- Built multiple components of the web front & back-end: NodeJS (𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩 / 𝙅𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩) + GraphQL (Apollo) + React (front)- Developed AWS CDK infrastructure as code (𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩)- Developed various AWS Serverless APIs and Microservices (𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙎𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩 AWS Lambda + various AWS fixtures like SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.)- Responsible for all product-management / project-management.Achievements:• Built a team from scratch by effectively recruiting, interviewing and negotiating contracts with team members• Sourced and negotiated contracts with vendors, including those for legal, data, and hardware services• Lead the product development by consistently motivating team members to do their best work• Successfully launched a working product after more than 2 years in design and developmentMaintained high moral and motivation among team members throughout life of company

As Manager of Capital Projects, I was responsible for managing capital projects totalling between $5-$10 million per year for Metropolis at Metrotown. Projects I undertook included structural repairs, traffic deck coatings, roof replacements, building envelope repairs, glazing, roadworks, vertical transportation replacements and modernizations, major HVAC equipment replacements, major electrical equipment replacements. In this role, I was also responsible for developing the 10-year capital plan for the property. To do so, I created and managed all RFPs and contracts for condition assessments, and developed detailed cost-estimates based on unit rates from my own historical pricing database and based on those supplied by consultants and contractors. Finally, I developed a financial model for the property that allowed us to determine how much work we could undertake in any given year, without putting undue negative pressure on our annual EBIT ratio.In executing capital projects, I developed and managed the RFP process to contract consultants, and then worked with the selected consultants to define a detailed scope of work and project schedule, develop public tender packages, and manage the tender and award process. Once the construction was underway, I spent my time developing and managing plans to mitigate negative impacts on operations of the facility, and facilitating smooth progress in execution of the work.

I worked with Heavy Industry clients to reduce their property tax burden, past, present, and future. I achieved great returns for my clients by leveraging my many years experience in real estate, construction, and finance. My work involved construction analysis, quantity surveying, financial analysis, legal research, and real estate appraisal & valuation work.

Responsible for full-cycle accounting, payroll, and reporting to stakeholders.- Successfully completed a year-end and navigated the organization through two audits within two months of starting the position, without any transfer of knowledge from the previous person performing the role- Improved internal controls through implementing two changes in cash management by the front-of-house staff by collaborating with the front of house manager, and his staff: revise cash envelopes information entry fields, install secure deposit box, and revised cash & plastic reconcilliation report for front of house manager- Increased efficiency of own role through better documenting and automating a number of tasks, such as monthly revenue reconciliations between three revenue recording software systems: built multiple spreadsheets where raw data can be pasted on one sheet, and formulas would automatically provide journal entry outputs on another reporting sheet, by pulling from said raw data.After leaving, I went on to sit on their board of directors for two years as Treasurer, and continue to have a close relationship with its staff and management.

Managed multiple multi-million dollar projects as part of a project management team including requests for proposals, service contract negotiations, progress payment reviews, budget value engineering, budgeting, and proposal drafting. Additional achievements include:Created a project accounting software package for tracking multiple account budget commitments, changes, and payments, and for reporting on the financial status of the projects via a custom-made business intelligence reporting component. This resulted in reduced time spent on paperwork management by over 50%, and increased quality and quantity of information for decision making by over 30%Introduced and implemented a project accounting system and an electronic filing system, that resulted in over 60% fewer cases of lost informationUsed advanced excel and user interface design knowledge to create dynamic reports for better decision making, resulting in improved information presentation and better buy-in from project teams
