Profile bio

About Roman Kowch

I'm a member of the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO) team at NASA Langley Research Center, specializing in technical applications of lidar and camera data. Much of my work focuses on applying visualization techniques for exploration and analysis of Earth-observing satellite data, linking the meteorological aspects of cloud and aerosol layers with satellite retrievals (or output products) calculated from raw, atmospheric remote sensing measurements. A combination of computer programming, 3-D rendering, tool prototyping, and data analysis is central to my assigned tasks. I also support research covering cloud detection, microphysics, and objectives related to NASA field campaigns. I work under the Science, Technology and Research Support Services III (STARSS-III) contract between SSAI and NASA.

Listed skills include Scientific Computing, Data Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Scientific Writing, and 34 others.
