Research Assistant

Amherst, Massachusetts, Us

As a Research Assistant, I worked on the simulation of cache networks. Through CDNs and in the future through CCNs, cache networks are gaining momentum. New caching algorithms are necessary because the distribution of content is different from the distribution of memory accesses in computers. On top of that, there may be different priorities associated with contents. Efficient policies need to take into account recency, frequency as well as content diversity. Our work (which remains to be published) introduces several new policies that try to incorporate these ideas based on the Data Stream Caching Algorithm by Rocha et al. (ACM SIGCOMM CoNEXT CCDWN Workshop 2015).Check out my GitHub repository: https://github.com/romanlutz/icarus
