Roman has been a Senior Consultant with FlowVision since 1999. As FlowVision’s first employee, he has extensive implementation experience leading a wide range of companies from multiple industries. Roman’s 25+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience includes implementing in factories as an inside employee as well as guiding teams while working as an outside consultant. Roman began his manufacturing experience with Applied Materials, working as an Assembly Technician and then an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer. At Applied Materials, he had his first experience leading a Lean Manufacturing Implementation to convert the operation from a stationary-build assembly environment to a Mixed-Model Lean Flow assembly line. He also worked at John Costanza Institute of Technology (JCIT), where he mastered Demand Flow Technology (DFT), and continued to build on his Lean Flow skills prior to his employment with FlowVision.At FlowVision, Roman specializes in factory line design and supply chain implementations. His implementation services include supply chain replenishment transformations that link multiple tiers of the supply chain together via demand pull, as well as internal Kanban replenishment implementations (using single-bin, two-bin, multi-bin, statistical and ROP sizing techniques) that include both internal and external suppliers. He specializes in office, assembly and machine-intensive operations that focus on linking processes together, eliminating waste and increasing productivity. Roman has extensive experience in production planning as well as in workplace design and organization. His production environment experience includes engineered-to-order, low volume - high mix, as well as high volume - low mix. He has led teams in companies that produce a few products per day (i.e. semiconductor capital equipment industry, machine tools, etc.) to high volume production environments (i.e. tires, all-in-one printers, washing machines, outboard motors, etc.).Over the last 10 years at FlowVision, Roman has focused much of his work in the nursery and greenhouse industry. He has worked with seeds, young plants, tropical plants, annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees (B&B and potted) and more. He has led shipping implementations varying in volume to over 50 trucks per day, shipping to customers ranging from multiple Big Box Retailers to Independent Garden Centers and landscapers. Roman has also led Green Industry implementations in transplanting and propagation, as well as in plant maintenance and facility optimization.
