Working with large groups of young learners over the years has taught me how to effectively manage the ever changing needs found within a diverse group. I am excellent at adapting my delivery and approach to the varying skill and maturity levels presented to me each fall. My excellent communication and interpersonal skills have enabled me to effectively and authentically dialogue about details related to a client’s most precious resource: their child.In my role as a Math Special Assignment Teacher - MSAT, I had the great opportunity to support teachers of all experience levels in employing the best, data driven, practices. Co-planning and co-teaching rich, equitable, and relevant lessons that maximized each teacher's technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge to the fullest was at the core of each collaboration. Further, the MSAT role enabled me to support large groups of teacher via live and virtual PD and webinars covering many mathematical and TELT based ideas.My natural team building skills have served me very well during my 20 plus years as a youth coach and mentor. Helping athletes of all levels develop their Physical Literacy skills has been immensely rewarding. My ability to spot talent in others is not limited to athletic skill, it also includes the ability to find leaders. Helping individuals, of any skill level, recognize the talent hidden within themselves is endlessly rewarding. As a veteran coach, I strive to inspire others to rise above their self perceived limitations.Throughout my teaching career, I have always maintained a strong commitment to accountability and professionalism. I consistently keep up with relevant publications and research. I have enhanced my practice and skill set via the mastery of the evolving Ministry and Board policy initiatives. I pride myself on being able to effectively adapt large policy ideas into pragmatic real world strategies.The most significant area of professional growth that I am engaged in is focused on the effective utilization of technology enhanced learning and teaching. Offering differentiated opportunities and varied entry points for learners is paramount to success. In this way, I am able to offer real time support, effective communication, and relevant feedback.I look forward to having an opportunity to embark on a new adventure that will both challenge and inspire me!
