Looking for an Optometrist position where I can utilize my doctorate education in order to provide the best public eye care to the surrounding community and empower patients to take control of their ocular health. I am looking for an environment that will stretch and challenge me in my dedication to lifelong learning and service.I attended the University of Kentucky on a full tuition scholarship and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a Minor in Business. During my four years at the university, I was involved in the Center for Community Outreach, Delta Gamma Fraternity, Children’s Ministry and High School Ministry at Southland Christian Church, the Student Activities Board, Christian Student Fellowship, UK Dance Blue, Service for Sight, and Jesus Prom. I also worked at Stratton Eyes as an Optometric Technician/Administrative Clerk for 2 years during and towards the end of my time in Lexington. I then went on to Indiana University School of Optometry where I am currently finishing my fourth year and graduating in May 2016 with my Doctorate in Optometry. The summer after my first year I worked at Dr. McNulty and Dr. Rosengarten's in Louisville, KY as an Optometric Technician and I have worked as an Extern during my fourth year at Truhlsen Eye Institute, Huntington Veteran's Hospital, and the Atwater Eye Care Center. I will finish my externships at the Indianapolis Eye Care Center starting in February 2016. During my time earning my Optometry degree at IU, I served as the President of the student American Academy of Optometry, the Treasurer of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and as Class Representative of the 3rd Year Class. I am currently a member of the American Optometric Association, a student fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association. I am also a long-time member of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
