Reporting directly to the Managing Director, my primary focus, beyond managing day-to-day operational duties, is to serve as a Business Partner to our Managers. This involves facilitating their understanding of the current talent pool through 1:1 meetings, appraisals, and coaching, as well as developing training programs tailoured to individual and departmental needs.I oversee the entire hiring process, recruiting for all positions from entry level to top management through personal headhunting. Additionally, I manage the employee journey from induction to monthly check-ins, ensuring 100% retention.In this hands-on role, I collaborate closely with management as a true business partner, providing coaching, support, feedback, and managing performance and talent. My responsibilities include restructuring teams, managing budgets, and working with top management on strategic planning. I also partner with managers to build and strategize their teams, leveraging deep business insights essential to my role.

During the months I have worked as HR Consultant at StreetHR, I was mainly involved in the HR strategy of different companies which StreetHR represented as HR Consultants. I have also acquired new skills in the recruitment area, as another main activity was to prepare candidates for new roles and coaching them for new positions. This part of my role involved direct meetings with candidates and assisting clients with selecting the right candidates for their vacancies. This particular role enabled me to master my skills in employee engagement and employee relations and also to work hand in hand with line managers from different industries, such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and printing.

This was my first role in HR after eighteen years as working as Senior Cabin Crew with Airmalta plc. Reporting to the Flight Ops Manager, my responsibilities included taking full ownership of certain administration-related tasks such as monthly payroll and maintaining employee records. I also began to assist in recruitment, mostly dealing with the recruitment of pilots and flight attendants. One of my main tasks was to support pilots and flight attendants on a day-to-day basis, and thus supporting flight ops by ensuring a smooth-running operation from paperwork to travelling logistics. Once employees began their employment with us, I took ownership of their induction, from liaising with their managers for a full schedule of training in their first week, to ensuring they felt comfortable in their role.In September 2017 I got promoted and was able to take complete ownership of the day-to-day running of the department, and a business partner role. I also hired an Admin Assistant as part of my team, to assist with certain duties.

I joined Airmalta plc as Cabin Crew to Senior Cabin Crew. My main responsibilities were attending to passengers’ requirements while being alert for any emergencies that could arise. During these years I learnt to deal with customer complaints on the spot in a highly professional manner, and to be prepared for any possible emergency including aircraft evacuation.
