- Ambulance Division staffs emergency response unit (MICU) ambulance(s) for 9-1-1 coverage of the entirety of the largest campus in the nation; including health science center, research park, and an airport; covering more than 70,000 students, faculty, and staff.- Perform functions as an EMT, under supervision of In-charge Paramedic, performing assessment and emergency medical care for patients of traumatic injury and sudden illness.- Work directly with the EMS Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure that EMS staff and day-to-day operations are in-line with the agency Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Delegated Orders.- Work with various university department and organizations to plan and coordinate for event coverage, including NCAA football games; regularly covering upwards of 130,000 people; coordinating with multiple agencies from adjacent emergency services to FBI counterterrorism.

Operate as sworn civil service employee, credentialed to provide Basic Life Support with expanded scope of practice, conducting 9-1-1 response, with Advanced Life Support provider, on Mobile Intensive Care Unit ambulance, serving the City of Austin and Travis County’s 1.2 million residents. Exercising independent judgment, providing out-of-hospital medical care, rescue activities, and emergency response; consistent with guidance from medical director, and under general direction of field commanders.

Full time federal internship in the Office of Emergency Management & Medical Operations (EMMO), predominantly in the Division of Field Operations and Response. Participated in a wide range of federal response operations, including coordinating with governmental and private sector stakeholders in Healthcare System Resiliency Task Force, and supporting national COVID-19 pandemic response efforts. During the response operations, provided technical guidance and information on emergency and medical response and air operations issues to a variety of audiences including Senior Executives; coordinated with numerous operations in the field as part of National Incident Management Team, as well as state and local authorities, on quarantine repatriation; and supported the Federal Health Coordinating Officer.

- Planned and collaborated with partner University faculty and staff, as well as Warrior-Scholar D.C. staff.- Scheduled and managed all on-campus logistical requirements, including facilities, and resources for 20 students for a week-long course; i.e. classrooms, study spaces, housing, meals, and guest speakers.- Managed, prioritized, and accounted for expenditure over $23,000, including tax-exempt donations, multisource cost sharing, and non-monetary donations.- Coordinated, in conjunction with multiple PR and marketing entities, the press and publicity requirements; outlets included print, digital, television, and social media.- Led participant coordination, pre-course, in order to ensure that all student veterans had support necessary, and fulfilled requirements in order to attend. Requirements included surveying and collecting demographic information (in compliance with appropriate privacy regulations), as well as ensuring personal – and particularly disability- requirements were met.
