O trabalho de iniciação científica teve seu foco na Geração Procedural de Conteúdo utilizando algoritmos genéticos, recebendo apoio do programa de bolsas CNPq. Consistiu-se principalmente na confecção dos mapas de jogos virtuais onde todo o plano de jogo, objetos, caminhos e salas era gerado proceduralmente. Foi realizada também uma versão do famoso jogo Infinity Mario Bros, por meio de algoritmos genéticos, a versão do jogo gerava um mapa factível diferente a cada inicialização da partida, de modo que o jogador nunca jogava pelo mesmo mapa duas vezes.
