• Responsible for data architecture for our online gaming and horse racing wagering platform: registration, funding and on-line wallet, transaction repository, VIP loyalty program, marketing campaign rules engine, back-office, handicapping and e-commerce pieces.• Manage several dozen clusters across multiple development, load-testing and production environments. In production these clusters auto-scale according to traffic.• Design mechanisms to enable integration among data modules and third-party content and function providers.• Enforce architectural guidelines and supervise DB implementation efforts by multiple development teams across Lexington and Louisville locations.• Responsible for researching and mapping out technology choices after seeing through successful multi-terabyte migration from on-prem Oracle MySQL clusters to AWS: we use a combination of Aurora for MySQL and PostgreSQL, DynamoDB with some RDS MySQL, we also implemented some database-adjacent services: lambda functions, DMS, RDS proxy; as well as extensive AWS/CLI scripting• Lead and supervise our TSDBA (Twinspires DBA) team comprised of database resources embedded across various development teams and reporting to me. My role is at the intersection of technical and managerial capacities: recruitment, performance reviews, mentoring and training.• Maintain a knowledge base to document growing complexity of our platform, as well as architectural diagrams and papers.• Coordinate and organize deployments and progression of changes through environments. • Database code optimization through a variety of approaches: indexation, query re-writing and MySQL settings tune-up upon analysis of a query optimizer trace and cost analysis.• Design and implement data partitioning and archival strategy, database object permission model and backup/disaster recovery strategy.

• Administration of various open-source relational database management systems including the latest version of MySQL and several multi-terabyte PostgreSQL servers on Linux and Solaris platforms. • Extensive database development using PG/PLSQL and Transact-SQL.• Design and development of the master database with several thousand objects to control and implement data capture and processing, workflows, website and applications, this solution is currently deployed and replicated across 7 multi-terabyte PostgreSQL servers with data drill-down and reports accessible via web.• Platform migration, version upgrades, maintenance, database re-engineering and performance tune-up.• Extensive development in scripting languages.• Design and implementation of the backup strategy and storage/capacity planning.• Maintenance of legacy applications written in C/C++.• Development of a wide range of applications in C/C++ and Visual C# to implement the capture, processing and statistical analysis of real-time stock market trade flow data.• Report design and implementation using the latest version of Crystal Reports.• Miscellaneous data processing tasks, including but not limited to data manipulation and conversion.• User support, documentation and testing.
