About Romy Block

I’m a Toronto-based artist, designer, photographer and maker. I have a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from OCAD University and I studied Graphic Design at George Brown College.As an artist, I enjoy exploring colour and light in the creation of semi-abstract paintings. I also have a fascination for the macabre and morphology as it relates to creature creation.As a designer, I’m interested in exploring the subtle ways design influences how we feel or the choices we make as consumers.I'm currently employed as the in-house Senior Graphic Designer at the Miles Nadal JCC, a cultural hub in downtown Toronto and an organization at the forefront for accessibility and inclusion in this city. In my spare time I continue to work on personal projects and as a freelance designer, artist and photographer.I’m never happier than when I’m making something.
