I am a Ph.D chemist by training with 35+ years of R&D, strategic planning and commercial product development experience, and an inventor on over 25 U.S. Patents. In my varying leadership roles, I have been commercialized a range of technologies including leading a team commercializing advanced recycling technology in my current role as Sustainability Technology Manager at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (CPChem). CPChem’s Marlex® Anew™ Circular Polyethylene product launch in October 2020 was the culmination of a grass roots project I led from the effort’s onset with an announced production goal of 1 B lbs of annual production by 2030.Prior to this role, I served as the Planning and Strategy Manager in the Corporate Planning and Development Group at CPChem, where I coordinated CPChem’s annual strategic planning and budgeting process. Prior roles have also included serving as the Global Product Manager, NAO Light Products where I was responsible for marketing and sales of 1 Blbs of alpha olefins, and leading CPChem’s Petrochemical R&D program in alpha olefins, polyalphaolefins and our heterogeneous catalysis technologies in Aromax Technology and in our acetylene reduction technology. I consider my skill set to be relatively unique as I have years of experience in R&D, but also direct commercial management as well as in corporate strategic planning. These experiences have enable me to lead teams that have successfully commercialized the world’s first on-purpose 1-Hexene process, the Phillips ReVap alkylation process, CPChem’s high viscosity PAO process and most recently CPChem’s Marlex® Anew™ Circular Polyethylene. My passion is in combining technical, strategic and commercial insights coupled with strong interpersonal skills needed to bring the best performance out of cross-functional teams. I do this through assembling people with skills and passion, and then pursuing project goals with teamwork, focus, persistence and effective communication.
