Abrams and his career in higher education.Retiring in 2013 after serving as President of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges for almost six years, he represented and advocated on behalf of Ohio's 23 community colleges. He is frequently sought after to present at national strategic meetings on improving student success, and on the future of higher education and has served as a consultant for national legislative change affecting higher education.Dr. Abrams has presented at the Oxford Round Table at Oxford University as well as numerous other professional meetings over the course of his career. He has been the recipient of many honors and awards.Dr. Abrams lives in Mansfield, Ohio with his wife, Dr. Billie Brandon, who practices as a mediator and community volunteer. Their son, Chad, is an economic research analyst at Johns Hopkins University.
