Full-time instructor in the Protective Intelligence Section. My position entails providing new recruits with a comprehensive understanding of protective intelligence methodology and how it applies to our Secret Service mission. As a subject-matter expert in terrorism, I apply institutional knowledge of sources and methods in countersurveillance. counter-intelligence and personal recovery. I further create, format and implement a variety of media to our recruits, ensuring that they comprehend the material for testable purposes. I was also tasked with updating the entire protective intelligence curriculum, lesson plans and tests to ensure the material follows national accreditation standards set forth by the United States Secret Service.

Assigned to the International Programs Division (IPD). The primary responsibilities of IPD includes controlling our international offices, liaison with U.S. Embassy, supervising Secret Service personnel in the USSS participation in the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), and in all facets in the personnel recovery program. Due to the limited number of agents in IPD, Special Agents are crossed trained in this division. Agents are expected to have a working knowledge budgeting, shipping, training, auditing, policy development, and assisting personnel moving overseas. I am primarily assigned to the personnel recovery program. This section includes developing, training, and monitoring Secret Service personnel overseas. IPD is responsible for ensuring the safety of USSS personnel while overseas including their recovery. Since my tenure in IPD, I have been instrumental in enhancing the training in our personnel recovery program. I developed SOP for our contract management system. This system is a process of auditing overseas security clearances for Locally Employed Staff. I am part of a white paper team implementing a new personnel recovery device system. I am also part of the notification emergency alert team that is responsible for the recovery of USSS personnel overseas. I also spearheaded a team effort of developing a new policy for foreign training expenditures, vetting those foreign entities ensuring USSS is in compliance with the Leahy Act / FOAA and tracking USSS overseas personnel. I further have developed a new safety brief for USSS personnel traveling overseas.

Assigned to the Protective Intelligence Assessment DivisionI conduct, analyze, and monitor threats using open source, HUMINT, and cyber intelligence. Using open source techniques, I investigate and determine the origin of the threat culminating in a comprehensive intelligence report within a limited time frame. Those reports are disseminated to the U.S. Secret Service Director and other intelligence agencies according to its classification level. I conduct on the ground protective intelligence advances for visiting U.S. protectees providing real-time threat assessment while coordinating, sharing, and preventing potential threats while integrating with law enforcement, intelligence, and military entities around the world.

Washington Field Office, Washington, Dc

Assigned to the Protective Intelligence Division of the Washington Field Office. Analyzed, investigated and coordinated all law enforcement entities regarding domestic and foreign threats against our protectees. Assessed all individuals within our protective zones for pre-attack behavior. Provided supplement supportive for protective details. Gave real-time intelligence briefings to shift supervisors. Developed and implemented operational security plans on all domestic and foreign dignitaries.

Cincinnati Field Office

Investigated financial crimes that affected the United States monetary system including those involving Federal Reserve Notes, credit cards, mortgage fraud, embezzlement, structuring, checks and network intrusions. My cases involved complex money laundering schemes that required tracking the proceeds to foreign countries. In the 12 years assigned to the Cincinnati Field Office, I arrested 240 individuals and detected $75 million in potential losses. During my tenure, I have amassed numerous hours testifying in state and federal courtrooms. I have also testified in court as an expert witness involving counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes and re-encoded credit cards. I have received numerous commendations from businesses, federal agencies, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and from the Secret Service. Several of my investigations made the national news. I have also conducted numerous protection advances for our protectees to include foreign dignitaries not only in the United States but in foreign countries. These included leads, sites, intelligence, and transportation. All of which resulted in a successful conclusion. I also received commendation letters from the Secret Service for exemplary service.

I was a deputy sheriff for 10 years. In those 10 years, I worked in the correction division, patrol, traffic and as canine handler assigned to the drug unit. I received advanced training in explosives, narcotics, crime scene, organized crime, investigations, interviewing techniques, accident reconstruction, canine handling techniques, certified state instructor and firearms. I was assigned for two years to a multi-state ATF Task Force in the interdiction of untaxed cigarettes and the tracking of illicit profits being structured to the Middle East. In the three years I was assigned to narcotics, my interdiction team seized $5.5 million in drugs and assets. I also received numerous awards/commendations from area businesses and other police agencies including state and federal agencies.
