About Ron Barus
After working 8 years in two different Emergency Departments, the last seven in a Level 1 Trauma Center, I had become active in multiple committees and forums for change. With the advent of the year 2000, and it's inherent issues with our current, highly customized, ordering system, I was offered, in October of 1997, the opportunity to use my Nursing knowledge to assist in the development of a new ordering system, HBOC STAR. Since then, I have developed stand alone database information handling systems for "special process" areas, as well as assisted in the deployment of specialized hardware for Nurse Call systems. In 2005, I was offered the chance to transition to the Cerner Implementation team for CHS, assisting with Orders and eMAR implementation. In the process, I demonstrated a skill and affinity for CCL reporting, and later transitioned, in 2007, to a CCL Reports developer role.
