Ron Bloom serves as a Co-Chair of the firm’s investment committee and is deeply involved in all aspects of Commonweal’s business. His work focuses on identifying promising startups in markets bolstered by public support and providing strategic advice to portfolio companies.

Ron Bloom is currently Vice-Chairman and Managing Partner at Brookfield Asset Management. His work focuses on helping the firm invest and manage the $50 billion within their Private Equity Group. Transactions have included the acquisition of Westinghouse from Toshiba; the acquisition of Johnson Control’s lead-acid battery business (now Clarios), the restructuring of JC Penney, the creation of a Joint-Venture with Intel to build a chip making facility and the acquisition of Nielsen.
