Conducted a review of...and...co-authored a report ushering in a new investment policy for the Grand Lodge of Manitoba. Part of a 'Group of Four' whose recommendation ushered in the establishment of the 'Freemasons of Manitoba Award in Human Rights' through the creation of a trust with the University of Winnipeg Foundation. (Starting with one $500 award in 2013/2014, the number rose to two $500 awards in 2015; funding is now in place for a third $500 award to be presented in 2016.) Special Projects was the vehicle to raise the necessary funds from the Masonic brethren to reimburse the Masonic Foundation for their gracious advancement of the initial $10,000 capital requirement. Currently engaged with the Special Projects Committee (where we are considering a possible shift of focus recommending endowment development for a sustainable involvement in the Cancer Care Project) as well as the Fraternal Relations Committee. Also continuing to work as part of the 'Group of Four' seeking a path forward for further engagement by the Grand Lodge of Manitoba in the field of Human Rights; additionally, we are, as a group, striving to find common ground for building bridges with various interested parties, including those of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights located in Winnipeg (https://humanrights.ca/). Served as a Director of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc from 1996 to 2014. Engaged in Squadron Liaison work on behalf of the Board of Directors with a number of Air Cadet Squadrons primarily in Western Manitoba. Also served as a Member-At-Large with the organization from 2014-2017. My association with the Air Cadet League has spanned the time period from 1959 to 2017 - from joining as a youngster, rising in rank to WO2 and experiencing the wonders of international travel as an International Exchange cadet to Britain in July 1964; engaging as a civilian instructor, then squadron adjutant, eventually a CO (1975-78) and on to various engagements as a member of the board of the Air Cadet League of Manitoba.
