Born and raised in the Ohio Valley. Worked as a machinist for one year, went to Kent State for one year, worked for Wheeling Steel Corp as a Draftsman for 2 years. Got married to high school sweetheart and came to California. Worked for an air tool development company and meet my mentor who taught me all I know about air motors. He started his own company, Standard Pneumatic Motor Company, and I was the first person he hired. We designed the smallest air tools then on the market and developed the first air tools used in medical surgery when everything until then was being done by hand. We designed the first air motors used in dentistry but it had many problems. I formed my own company with the design of the Star Dental Titan II dental handpiece and we manufactured over 300,000 for Star over 25 years. In 1995, I merged with Prodex, a dental company made up of several companies and listed on NASDAQ. After I merged, Star started manufacturing the motors themselves to protect them from having future problems with a new management. The overall experience taught me a lot about how to manage a business and how the real world works. At the merger, we had over 100 employees in a very well run and profitable company. I am highly experienced at the design and manufacturing of powered air and electric tools and instruments. I still work as an individual consultant.
