Ron Cunningham is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens For The Advancement Of Community Development (CACD), a registered charity committed to changing the lives of at-risk youth through programs that serve their unique needs, develop leadership skills and foster civic participation. Ron works in the Chief Accountant and Corporate Finance Divisions of Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bank of Nova Scotia, Banca Commerciale Italiana of Canada and Royal Bank of Canada. As a social innovator, he has impacted the lives of many youths through his Community Development work, both internationally and here in Canada. For this sacrifice, in 2010, Ron received the Ron Lenyk Crime Prevention Volunteer of the Year Award, in 2011, the Ontario Volunteer Services Award, 2012 Queen Diamond Jubilee Award for Community Service, 2014 Ontario Volunteer 10 years Services Award, 2015 City of Mississauga Civic Award of Recognition – 10 years of Community involvement, the 2017 Harry Jerome Community Service Award, the Ontario Government’s Volunteer Service Award - 15 years, and in 2019, the Afroglobal Community Service Award. Ron holds degrees in Economics (BA) and Accounting/Finance (B.Com) from York University and Professional Designations in Banking/Finance (AICB) and in Management (CIM).
