CurrentAREAS OF EXPERIENCEPennsylvania Oil and Gas Trade Association Mr. Cusano is the Firm's lead representative to the Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association ("PIOGA"). He is a member of PIOGA's Environmental Committee and Chair of the Air Quality Subcommittee of the Environmental Committee. As Air Quality Chair, he is responsible for, among other things, the Association's comments to air regulatory initiatives applicable to the oil and gas industry. The PIOGA comments he has drafted or overseen the drafting of include PIOGA's comments concerning: EPA's New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) applicable to the Oil and Gas Sector; the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's (PaDEP) Technical Guidance Concerning Single Stationary Source Determinations; the PaDEP's General Air Permit No.5 (GP-5); and the PaDEP's Permit Exemption No. 38. Mr. Cusano has authored numerous articles for PIOGA's newsletter and for other publications and is a frequent speaker on energy and environmental subjects.Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board Practice Mr. Cusano has prosecuted and defended numerous appeals and other matters before the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board including third party appeals from permitting actions, appeals of permit terms and conditions and enforcement actions. Recently, Mr. Cusano prosecuted an appeal from the PaDEP's issuance of an Air Plan Approval to a regional steel producer authorizing a major renovation of one of the steel producer's melt shops including the construction of a conventional electric arc furnace and a ladle metallurgical facility.
