Network Technician & Fiber Support Engineer
• Contracted to provide Field Technician support during a migration from the Verizon Fiber Network to the Frontier Communications Fiber Network in the states of California, Texas, and Florida.• Provided Field Technicians with ONT activations for Motorola, Tellabs, and Alcatel using EMS AXSVision Management Software, Tellabs Management Software, and AMS or Alcatel Management Software.• Assisted Field Technicians with cable pair assignments at the HUB and Terminal using Frontier Communications proprietary applications for network visibility.• Worked with BPON and GPON speed ONT’s throughout the migration depending on the customers’ requirements.• Provided Field Technicians with VOIP and STB video device support during installations while determining how the type of phone (VOIP, TDM, and CS2K) was ported using the Neustar Numbering Portal.• Utilized internal applications to determine VLAN assignment for VOIP as well as VPI and VCI assignments for data.• Troubleshooting problems during activations though technical procedures were consistently used and implemented.• Updated tickets and escalated troubles if necessary to resolve the problem while identifying chronic issues.• Documented all calls received to provide management with statistical information for Frontier Communciations to determine the call center progress through the Avaya phone system.• Consistently developed resources to meet the day to day challenges of providing support throughout the migration.
