Began my employment w/Monsanto on Oct. 19th, 1972 as an operator. Took a company position as a shift foreman for the STPP/Lime/MCP Turbine Towers/Phosphoric Acid production departments. Plant then went to one Shift Coordinator for the entire plant which included the DCP/TCP/SCPP Departments which included packaging units for all and milling/sizing operations for all departments. Over seen/directed the off shift production of a chemical manufacturing plant w/12+ departments operating simultaneously . Responsibilites included but not limited to environmental issues, safety/security of personel and plant, production schedules, quality issues, personel issues, directed personel for electrical/mechanical break downs & securing parts for break downs. Directed plant personnel in trouble shooting systems/production issues. Was trained as 1st responder/incident commander and directed plant personnel/outside agencies during spills, chemical (P4) fires and clean up. Trained at Texas A&M and SP RR facility.Experience with most manners of rotation equipment, sweco's, automated & manual packaging equipment including palletizers, mix tanks/chemical reactors, calciners/coolers/kilns, mill's (hammer/roller/Fitz), elevators, reddlers (drag link)/conveyors. Lime slaking and screen process. Pneumatic transfer system. Hands on knowledge of the overall workings of chemical plants. Experience with Caustic Potash, Caustic Soda, Phosphoric Acid, p4, Hydrochloric Acid, Soda Ash, Lime both in pebble/dry and slaked form.Currently employeed at ICL Chemical, same site for 42+ years, as an Operation Leader of automated packaging department (50 lb. packaging unit and semi bulk bag packer)/Boiler Room and Waste Water facility. Retiring April 14th, 2017.
