Ron Ishii is a Principal Consultant at Orion Enertech, LLC, with over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. He specializes in commercial and industrial energy efficiency, electrification, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy storage, and intelligent energy system technologies. His clients include utilities, government agencies, and large energy end-users.Before founding Orion Enertech, Ron was President and Principal Engineer at AESC Inc. for twenty-six years. Prior to AESC, he served as a Program Manager at SAIC, where he was responsible for utility industry consulting services, energy market research, and energy technology assessment and demonstration. He began his career at San Diego Gas and Electric, working in gas turbine maintenance, power plant performance testing, gas operations, and research & development.Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University and is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in California. He is also a Distributed Generation Certified Professional and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional. Ron is currently a member of the Southern California Energy Innovation Network Technical Advisory Committee and serves on the Community Advisory Committee for the Clean Energy Alliance. His past roles include Principal Advisor for the Larta Institute, member of the California Technical Forum, Chair of the CADER Technology Committee, board member of the AESP California Chapter, and member of the U.C. Irvine National Fuel Cell Research Center Technical Advisory Committee. He has also served on the California Energy Commission’s Energy Innovations Small Grant Program Technical Review board and the California Manufacturing Technology Consulting's board of directors.Ron is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
