Information Technology Infrastructure ManagerWashington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Wmata) Mar 2010 - Apr 2023Washington, Dc, UsIn my capacity, I play an integral role in designing, building, and managing WMATA's entire long-haul and a regional fiber-optic network containing 40,676 fiber strands (267.11 fiber route miles) as presently documented in the WMATA IT GIS infrastructure database. I also competently manage the infrastructure operational budget + by implementing cost-effective technology solutions. I mobilize the Infrastructure team with 16+ employees and 5+ IDIQ contractors, consisting of 15-120 people per contractor.As an IT Infrastructure Manager, I designed, built, and managed the construction +, 108-mile data center to data center fiber connectivity for the DWDM ring. I delivered asset visibility, decreased design time, reduced construction cost, and hastened outage response by identifying, procuring, developing, and placing a GIS infrastructure management database into production, which captured all of WMATA’s IT infrastructure assets, including fiber cables, copper cables, Wi-Fi AP’s/WIPS, and network equipment.With my key performance, I successfully delivered 100% connectivity throughout the WMATA rail system by utilizing creativity and keen attention to detail in developing a new fiber system strategy through the design and construction of a micro duct/air-blown fiber. Besides that, I effectively deployed WMATA’s station Wi-Fi system throughout 91+ stations which are containing 550 Access Points.
