Built the local staff from two writers to 12. Developed long-term and short-term projects. Was the first edit on all stories, looking for content quality as well as line-by-line editing construction. Ran a travel budget of nearly $200,000, getting reporters to stories all around the world, including Finland, Switzerland and Africa. Ran the Twitter and Facebook feeds for the Ohio cities. Promoted stories, reporters and fan get-togethers plus company-wide initiatives on social media platforms and at in-person events. Used social media, especially Twitter, to gain subscribers through rewards programs and individual stories and newsletters.

Ran the entire editorial operation for a digital sports media site. Conceived story ideas, assigned editorial projects, edited the day-to-day stories of a 10-member staff.

In charge of digital team that launched the company's newly created standalone online content department. Led all digital aspects for the editorial/advertising/circulation on Ohio.com on a daily basis. Led implementation of a membership/subscription model for the newspaper and website. Trained newsroom department in multitude of ways to get stories, photos and videos to readers through all means digital — desktop, tablet, mobile, Facebook, Twitter and apps. Trained advertising department in ways to build campaigns around initiatives of the digital and newsroom departments. A member of the nine-person senior management team of the Beacon Journal publishing company. Represented the company as a member of the Akron Roundtable.

Built story ideas from the ground up. Managed reporting staff to provide high-quality stories as part-time psychologist, full-time editor. Led a sports section that covers Cleveland pro sports, college sports, including three Division I universities, Akron, Kent State and Ohio State, and high schools (80-plus schools in the coverage). Manage a staff of more than 20 people, including part-timers.
