You can say i grew in the trailer business, but trailer is a bad word so we call them modular, workforce housing etc. My son is third generation, my father started 1965 and had his own mfg plant by 1969 in 1972 the company burnt down, so he started union company installing camps offices etc. turnkey for Atco Artisan and Territorial, Complete National Caterers, I started full time in 1982 as a union labourer working my way up the ranks, as an owners son he believed you had to learn everything from gas fitting mechanical and electrical, carpentry etc. Thats what kept me in it, always learning and no two jobs are the same, your always in different locations so your always being challenged, i always new the industry would grow as i had discussed with the journal of commerce in an interview in 2002, I had told them modular are the future and were seeing that now, I have been in GE news paper for going above and beyond and won many awards. I pride myself on excellence, and as my fathers nickname was mother goose, we always said if you could pass his inspection you could pass any inspection, i can remember the caterers union coming in with white gloves on and wiping walls windows etc. checking for squeaky door drawers etc. as a crew we were always very proud with no deficiencies as we considered are crews as they elite in the industry. I still get that excited feeling when a new job starts, i guess you could say i love the business.
