When you visit, I hope you see what we see!The coming together of salt-water marsh, dry land and ocean tides is an extraordinary event resulting in a beauty that is beyond description. The land here is a collection of relatively small islands with ancient live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. High tides with twelve-hour intervals identify exactly where the dry land is located. Otherwise, it’s not so obvious. Low tides stagger between each high tide and it may vary as much as nine feet due to weather or the lunar cycle. This continuing ebbing and flowing gives a rhythmic sense the land has joined with the ocean. When combined with the sun, the sky and the seasons the beauty is breath-takingly beautiful. Those of us who live here are fortunate and grateful that this is where we live. We enjoy sharing it with all our visitors especially those who love its beauty as we do.
