CURRENT: Ron McCray is a board director, investor, philanthropist and musician. He currently is a board member of Dallas News Corp. and Pathward Financial, Inc. Ron also serves as an advisor to 645 Ventures and to RLJ Equity Partners. He is a board member of the Newport Festivals Foundation, a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Presidential Councillor and Trustee Emeritus of Cornell University.Ron also has held ownership interests in various professional sports franchises, including the 18 times World Champion Boston Celtics. Ron performs as a jazz saxophonist and trumpeter in NYC, Charleston, SC and Paris, France, including the 2024 Paris Olympic Jazz Sessions and Gotham Jazz Festival in NYC.PREVIOUS:Ron has served on nine corporate boards and as a senior executive of three publicly traded companies. He is the former chairman, president and ceo of Perdoceo Education Corporation, where he led the successful turnaround of the company to industry leading top-line, profit and margin growth. Ron also has served as the chief administrative officer of Nike, Inc., chief legal officer of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and a Senate confirmed, Presidential appointee to the FRTIB, with oversight over the Thrift Savings Plan, the world’s largest defined contribution plan. Ron has served as vice chairman of the Cornell University Board of Trustees, and a member of the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Law School.EDUCATION:Ron graduated from Harvard Law School, where he was elected the editor and business manager of the Harvard Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Law Review, Class Marshall and has been named a Traphagen Distinguished Alumnus. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University with academic honors and recognition, election to campus leadership positions, and induction into two honor societies. Ron also set records in track and field, was named “Freshman to Watch” by ‘Track and Field News’ has been named a Distinguished Track and Field Alumnus, a Distinguished Classmate and established the McCray Scholars program.Ron graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx, NY, where he received numerous academic honors, performed as first trombone in the orchestra and various bands, and in track and field, earned top 25 national and top two New York state rankings, won a record setting NY Intersectional and three NY Sectional titles. He has been inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
