Responsible for training and preparation for contingency operations; supports the Commander in the implementation of his command intent; mentors senior NCOs; maintains morale and discipline; motivates enlisted Soldiers; establishes a strong NCO Corps; oversees both collective and individual training; recognizes Soldiers for positive efforts and achievements; manages the NCO and enlisted promotion system; assists the commander and staff officers in CMO at all levels of command; performs CAO and CMO planning; serves as the primary enlisted advisor on all Soldier, morale and recruiting issues; provides strategic input regarding current and future operations.Iraq 2007 - senior NCO of an airborne civil affairs company with 34 assigned Soldiers; responsible for the professional development of all NCOs and enlisted Soldiers; planned and executed all training for the company leading up to the deployment and maintained the readiness of the company during its mobilization; coordinated the establishment of a civil military operations center; assisted in the planning and execution of humanitarian aid distribution; conducted military-civic action projects; supported the civil administration; served as a pay agent for over three million dollars in projects; company was responsible for management of over 41 million dollars of reconstruction projects in the Sadr City and Adhamiyah districts of Baghdad.Iraq 2003 - senior NCO of a civil affairs company with 32 assigned Soldiers and oversaw the management of more than 50 million dollars of reconstruction projects; assisted brigade surgeon with educating, organizing and supplying medical clinics in Al Rashid district of Baghdad; senior advisor to brigade commander on governance which included organizing 14 neighborhood councils and the district council in the Al Rashid district of Baghdad.

Assist local affiliates to resolve their health and safety problems and issues using applicable NFPA and OSHA codes and standards as well as other resources. Plan and execute bi-annual health and safety symposium including developing planning timeline; selecting themes, discussion topics and presenters; developing symposium brochure; developing agenda; assembling abstracts and bios for abstract book; coordinating with Convention Services for signage; preparing symposium script; and coordinating with hotel, Convention Services and host local to problem solve crisis during symposium. Attend OSHA, DOL, AFL-CIO, NIST and fire service professional meetings and conferences on behalf of the Assistant to the General President and the Health and Safety Director to represent the IAFF and advocate for the health and safety of fire fighters. Serve as preceptor for the John’s Hopkins Occupational and Preventative Medicine Residents which involves teaching them how to advocate for a specific population, introducing them to applicable codes and standards which affect fire fighter health, and working with them to solve local affiliate medical problems. Develop educational programs and materials on pertinent health and safety topics for fire fighters. Assist with coordination and management of U.S. federal grants and their affiliated work products. Make presentations to local affiliates on health and safety topics.
