History of Project - Baha Mar is the Caribbean’s largest single-phase hospitality investment in history. A 400 acre oceanfront destination comprised of four hotels (Baha Mar Casino & Hotel, Rosewood Hotel, SLS Hotel, Grand Hyatt Hotel), over 2,000 Guestrooms and 200 Residences, a 200,000sf Convention Center, ESPA Spa, Jack Nicklaus designed Golf Course. The US$3.5 billion resort was also the largest project under development in the Western Hemisphere at the time. Unfortunately ownership filed for Bankruptcy in October 2015, project remained closed as of April 2017. The resort was 95% complete at time of filing.Direct Responsibilities – Procuring for all Brands; Guestroom Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E), all Operating, Supplies and Equipment (OS&E), all Logistics and Warehousing (from global manufacturing to on-site install), pre-opening sourcing of all Food & Beverage vendor requirements to operate over 20 Restaurants, Bars, Employee Dining (2,200 employees), Convention Center. Managed to a $172,500,000 pre-opening budget. Created a Procurement Organization comprising of Purchasing Management, Logistics & Warehouse Management, Food and Non-Food Related Buyers, Analytics, Brokerage, Executive Assistant and all supporting Coordinators to manage a post-opening “Centralized Procurement Organization” that supports and services the operational day to day Purchasing needs of all four Brands and Business Units of the Baha Mar resort destination.

Assisted with the Development and Execution of a New Global Supply Chain Business Model (Decentralizing Procurement) for North America, while having direct responsibility for overseeing the Supply Chain needs of Boston, Florida and Canada. Spearheaded a very successful company pilot (establishing Regional Procurement in Market) for South Florida resulting in multi-million dollar savings. The success of the pilot allowed for the company to expand its model across North America while significantly exceeding the initial financial savings expectation for 2013.

Created Pre-Opening Procurement processes working with individual hotel owners and Corporate Operations to ensure successful hotel openings, both operationally and financially. Opened 40 Ritz-Carlton Hotels and 4 Ritz-Carlton Destination Clubs worldwide. Pre-opening responsibility included the establishment of Purchasing Operations in each market and the development, sourcing in country, contract negotiations, budgets and execution of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Operating Supplies and Equipment (OS&E) Brand Standards throughout Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, USA and Caribbean.

Implemented National Corporate programs and negotiated Regional Food & Beverage and Non-Food related contracts for Hotels, Healthcare, Education and Professional Business Divisions. Worked closely on all Regional Brand Business Councils (Food &Beverage, Rooms, Engineering, General Manager) and represented Marriott on the Atlanta Minority Supplier Development Council.In addition, took on responsibility for merging Marriott International Procurement programs into The Ritz-Carlton hotels across North America to maximize leveraging opportunities. Developed and executed new hotel pre-opening processes for day to day Purchasing Operations, OS&E budgets and in-country product sourcing, for the opening of several Asia-Pacific Ritz-Carlton hotels during this period of time.
