Global, company-wide leadership of the ~$2B steering commodity, in all phases of steering component engineering and the vehicle life cycle, advanced technology planning and development, sourcing strategies, as well as providing personnel management and development to hundreds of engineers across the world. • Created and executed strategic plans for the steering commodity, with an extensive component catalog and reuse roadmaps, reducing 15% of a ~$2B spend, presented to CEO.• Engineered increased steering reliability per customer experience and expectations, and government agency input resulting in 40% improvements to best-in-class levels in quality, warranty spend, and field actions.• Established and directed global steering sourcing process, aspects were used to create best price @ launch process, with monetized roadmaps and pricing curves delivering over ~10% reduction, presented to Group VP’s and VP’s.• Developed and implemented new and advanced technology from power adjust columns, to fuel efficient power steering technologies in pumps, column and rack electric power assisted steering, to adaptive front steering, to features including trailer backup assist, to steer-by-wire, generating revenue, profit, and increased satisfaction.
