Led the investigation into options for restructuring the MSFC organization. Assisted in the implementation of the selected organizational changes. Served as Deputy Lead for the team integrating the NASA Agency space architecture and architectural teams.

Conceived of and assisted in the development of a function to integrate the Agency's strategic planning and attach that planning to both strategic and tactical decision making. This included connecting disparate mission plans, technology development road maps, and technical capability deployment.

Led the Technical Capabilities Assessment Team tasked with evaluating the characteristics and distribution of NASA workforce and assets. The purpose of the team was to develop observations and opportunities for realignment of Agency capabilities, roles and objectives to increase efficiency and still meet Agency strategic goals.

Responsible for forward planning and analysis of potential investment areas and coordination among affected organizations.

Responsible for the Systems Engineering Division integrating the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles. The division was made up of approximately 170 Civil Service and contracted engineers and analysts.During 2011, in preparation for full scale development, also performed the duties of the Lead Systems Engineer, Space Launch System.

Led all nuclear fission space propulsion and power projects at Marshall, including ground and flight research, definition, development and demonstration activities, in support of the Vision for Space Exploration.Projects also included advanced systems such as high power electric propulsion, fusion, and antimatter propulsion.

Responsible for the Marshall Space Flight Center Microgravity Science $100M/year portfolio. Supervised both high grade program managers and program scientists.

This multi-center team was commissioned by the Agency to develop and recommend strategies to streamline the use of the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station in an effort to emphasize and increase space-based scientific research.

Served as the Assistant Program Manager for Biotechnology Programs. Also supported the Flight Assignment Working Group that determined the payload manifest for the Space Shuttle.

Responsible for the development, certification, and flight of hardware for numerous flight projects. Many were developed in-house and thus was the lead development engineer and manager for those efforts. Additionally, served as the technical advisor on several projects with contracted hardware development and operations. Served also as the Lead Engineer for the verification, certification and installation of Space Shuttle Mid-deck payloads.

Systems included a variety of payload science instruments, Chandra x-ray telescope mirrors and Space Shuttle solid rocket boosters.Served also as Lead Operations Engineer and "air to ground" communicator for the Spacelab-3 Mission.Operated and helped maintain several space environmental test assets.Also certified as a professional scuba diver in support of neutral buoyancy testing of operational procedures for space walks to service the Hubble Space Telescope.
