I also worked IR&D programs for the design, development and system integration of vapor cycle refrigerant cooling… Show more I am a senior project engineer with more than 42 years of experience on pneumatic components used to control bleed air from aircraft turbine engines. Components include pneumatic-actuated shutoff valves and regulators, as well as fuel-actuated modulating valves controlled by Electro Hydraulic Servo Valves with Linear Variable Differential Transformers for position feedback. I also worked IR&D programs for the design, development and system integration of vapor cycle refrigerant cooling systems, including development of rotary vane refrigerant compressors. These IR&D experiences led to new business opportunities, so later my team delivered Parker's first prototype Vapor Cycle Environmental Control System (VCECS) in less than seven months to support flight test on the General Dynamics F-16 reconnaissance pod at Edwards Air Force Base. My next opportunity was to lead a team to design, integrate, and qualify a vapor cycle cooling system for the ES-3A aircraft. I have also provided engineering support for mature production, resulting in enhanced function, reliability, and cost. I am currently supporting a wide variety of fielded products. In this position I frequently document and disseminate valuable lessons learned and feedback from the engine customers and aircraft operators. These lessons learned along with best practices are applied to design through a knowledge based design review checklist process that I helped develop for Parker. Participation in numerous design and manufacturing process reviews has provided in-depth knowledge of the design, manufacture, and system function of many components. I have proven my ability to lead and manage technical teams efficiently from proposals through programs maturity and have been involved in component design as well as systems integration. In conclusion, I provide a full spectrum of engineering capabilities from writing proposals to qualifying new component designs to optimizing production designs and processes. Show less
