As Co-Founder and Franchisor of Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, I work with our teams to ensure leadership development and a strong visionary strategy, partnering with our company leaders to raise up the next generation of innovators and assist departments in the execution of Aqua-Tots' core values. Relationships are at the center of what I do every day, and my mission is to share the heartbeat of our organization, showing the world that we are more than a conglomeration of companies. We propel people forward—both professionally and personally—making a difference that counts. I desire to inspire others to think outside the corporate box and make an impact, and I am committed to helping them pursue excellence with a passion, live outside the status quo, and dream big. Beyond Aqua-Tots, I am proud to serve as the franchisor and managing partner of emerging brands, KTR (Kids that Rip) Indoor Action Sports Playground and the Uncle Bear’s Grill and Tap franchises. Since 1991, I have also co-founded multiple companies that serve people well, including Workplace Safety Specialists, The Scuba Shop and Legacy Adventures. I have been fortunate to serve on the boards of Forest Home Camps, United States Swim School Association, Threshold and many trade organizations to impact those who serve in industries beyond our own. In my free time, I enjoy being on the lake with my wife of 26 years, Jane, and our three sons, who push me to stay active and young through wakesurfing and wakeboarding. My Aqua-Tots Journey In 1991, I was a teenage lifeguard who saw a need for quality swim instruction. Parents were searching for a place to be heard regarding their children’s water safety needs, and I was willing to listen. In borrowed backyard pools and rented hotel facilities, I began a mobile swim school, traveling the greater Phoenix area teaching swim lessons. By 2005, word had spread, and the idea of year-round, indoor swim facilities had caught the attention of both parents and entrepreneurs alike. In 2007, we launched our first franchise location, and by 2011, we opened our first international location in Kuwait. Today, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools serves families in over 120 communities in 14 countries, and our passion is the same now as it was over 30 years ago—propelling lives, one swim lesson at a time.
