Network Administrator, Western Nevada Supply, 6/2021 to present Setting: Hired as Network Administrator for this large building supply company in Sparks, Nevada. Supported 40 servers in VMWare and hundreds of mobile devices that used their custom mobile app for project logistics. Scope: Work entailed building and upgrading secure internal network and VPN connections to their eight remote branches, supporting secure operation of their mobile app connecting to servers in our environment, managing around 40 servers in the VMWare environment, offsite hot DR using Zerto, and long-term retention onsite and in the cloud with Wasabi. Also built out a large wireless network with 80 access points using Ruckus products that provided local access for their mobile app to access our server. Although my title was Network Administrator I served as their Senior Systems Administrator as I was responsible for the operation of all their servers and networks.

Setting: Contract worker for Experis Manpower Group to support Athena Heath's Centricity EHR, Surescripts, and Imprivata software installations and upgrades for various hospitals and ambulatory care facilities across the country. Scope: I was contracted by Athena Health to help fill demand for Centricty EHR upgrades. These upgrades included cloning and otherwise managing virtual servers in mostly VMWare environments but also Hyper V, building and optimizing Microsoft SQL servers, backing up and migrating databases, building out new Microsoft servers, documenting and troubleshooting connectivity between these servers, building secure connections to only necessary internet servers, and testing and troubleshooting the final projects. I was also responsible for managing these projects and coordinating activities between all involved parties.

Setting: Reno office for a mobile gaming company based in Europe. Scope: Responsible for installing secure servers inside various casinos to support our mobile gaming system. This included evaluating existing IT infrastructure of each casino to see how our system would be integrated. After this evaluation I would configure SonicWall and Sophos firewall for secure access as well as configure Ubuntu –based servers and containers for correct performance. Also was responsible for evaluation of existing wi-fi networks to ensure proper performance of our gaming app on the player’s phone. Attended and participated in SCRUM project management on all projects and supported local IT departments top ensure our mobile app would perform as required.

Setting: Insurance agency based in Santa Rosa, CA with satellite offices in Utah, Southern California, and Reno, Nevada.Scope: Supervised two junior IT Administrators in running all aspects of the IT department including: Windows Server 2012 and 2016 AD, Group Policy, project management, and Help Desk. Also designed our server infrastructure in Azure and created a hybrid cloud Active Directory environment, which is now moving completely into the cloud. This included building the Azure environment, designing the connectivity, creating the VPN clients, extending our local AD environment into Azure, configuring Local and Remote Gateways in Azure, and pricing out the monthly cost of various components. Worked directly with the CIO to design and maintain secure networks between remote offices, Azure, and our company headquarters in Santa Rosa. This included configuring SonicWall and Barracuda firewalls, StrongSwan VPN servers on Ubuntu server, and HP and Cisco switches. Also responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting RingCentral VoIP phone system for the company. Maintain our Server 2012 and Server 2016 Active Directory environment in Azure and on site, managed Group Policy and GPOs, performed SCRUM project management on all large projects, and supported end users with workstation or connectivity issues.

Setting: Over 50 healthcare providers; over 300 employees; average of 400 patients per day; electronic medical records since 2006.Scope: Working directly with the CEO, I lead a staff of six in running all aspects of the IT department including: enterprise data infrastructure, business intelligence, project management, software development, and Help Desk. Design, support, maintain, and expand enterprise data infrastructure including: ESX (VMWare) environment with 30 virtual servers and 300 virtual desktops. Centricity Practice Solutions (CPS) 12 EHR system. Windows server environment – Exchange, SQL server, AD, Group Policy, Sharing and Security, DHCP, and DNS. Used centralized management offered by ESX environment to maintain, upgrade, and provision Windows 7 desktops. Maintain network of 1000+ networked devices – 10 VLANs, SonicWall NSA 4600HA, Cisco router, HP and Dell switches. Support two remote offices – connect phones and printers by VPN and desktops via SSL-delivered virtual desktops. Regularly evaluate security for all the above, implementing changes as they become necessary Regularly evaluate opportunities for performance improvement in all of the above, creating yearly capital expense budgets showing use case and ROI. Work with other department managers to help with IT problems they encounter and ways to improve or implement change. Accomplishments: I led ROC through the implementation of a new EHR as required by the HITECH Act of 2009. We successfully attested for four years of Meaningful Use and are well-positioned to meet further IT-related regulatory requirements. I pivoted the IT Department from an IT Shop\Help Desk to a full-service Information Services department\Help Desk. I restructured our desktop environment from physical to virtual, which has allowed us to expand quickly to meet the rapid growth of the company in terms of physicians and employees.

Worked with businesses that purchased Konica Minolta equipment to help integrate these devices into their enterprise data infrastructure. Also provided support after installation.Worked with print servers, AD, mail servers, DHCP, DNS, and networking devices in order to accomplish this.

Worked at their uplink facility in Cheyenne, WY to create motion graphics and animations for national commercials and corporate presentations. Used digital video editors, After Effects, Photoshop, 3D Studio, and Illustrator to create these graphics.
