As a sales and application engineer I'm part of the CM&U team aligned under GE Gas Power. I prepare and develop proposals for conversion, modification and upgrades, often customised solutions to our equipment at our clients sites. Solutions to improve efficiency, life cycle extension, maintainability and usability. A high degree of collaboration and communication between the sales team, our commercial teams, contractors, suppliers and with the client, to come to a valuable solution, is paramount. Site meetings to understand our clients requirements or with our sales team to present our proposals to our client are a regular occurrence. Additionally, I provide my expertise and knowledge to the engineeringand execution team for local and overseas projects.

As a project lead engineer at Invensys in Sydney, I'm part of the TMC group within Invensys. Providing the sales team with technical expertise, conducting FEED and SIL studies and being point of contact for clients are some of my activities. As part of a project team I lead project engineers towards engineering excellence, in open communication and in continues improvement. As the PLE I will be driving the design, procurement, the assembly, testing and implementation at site of the required hardware, this all within the set budget and timeframe. Frequently providing feedback and progress updates to the project manager is a matter of course.

Woodward Governor, in Fort Collins, Colorado, is the world’s largest and oldest, independent control system designer and manufacturer and service provider of energy control solutions for aircraft engines, industrial engines and turbines, power generation and mobile industrial equipment. As a senior member of the Technical Assistant Group in the Sydney office I looked after the clients located in the Australian region. I provided them with support for their steam and gas turbine control systems, whether hardware or software related, either over the phone or when required on the client’s site where I assisted the site engineers.I prepared and conducted customised training on the installed systems and products.

As part of the commissioning team in Woodward’s dutch office I was responsible for installing and commissioning Woodward Control Systems for steam and gas turbines at sites throughout the world. During times in the office, in between commissioning jobs, I was supporting the sales and application engineers with technical expertise and with enquiries from customers using the Woodward products.
