Ron Stewart, WriterAs a writer, my goal is to find a blaze of light in every word...a blaze of understanding – of truth – that enlightens, educates, changes minds, changes behaviors. If there’s a word that doesn’t shed a blaze of light, I discard it. If the word only provides a dim blaze, I find a brighter one. Finding a blaze of light was my passion when I was a journalism major, reporter and, later, editor-in-chief for the University of Evansville (Indiana) Crescent. It remained my passion on my first job, covering human relations and federal government stories as a reporter on the Evansville Courier.When I joined Ball Communications, I honed my skills, writing copy for Atlas Van Lines, the regional McDonald’s franchise and local clients. Later, as Director of Concepts and Scripts, I wrote scripts for industrial theater, film, video, audio-visual programs, speeches and song lyrics for companies like Mead Johnson, General Electric, Elanco, Eli Lilly and Bristol-Myers Squibb.I brought those skills with me when BMS hired me as a writer and later manager of creative services for internal communications, and when I worked independently and as creative vice president for KFS & Associates. My success as a writer has been in finding a blaze of light that separates great communication from data dissemination.
