Currently working for NatureScot in the Marine Ecosystems team. I lead on the development and coordination of strategic cetacean, seal and elasmobranch monitoring programmes for MPAs and Scottish inshore waters. I am an experienced Policy Advisor with a demonstrated history of working in scientific biodiversity research and data analysis to support and advise on marine ecosystem management decisions. Skills in project management, statistical data analysis, GIS, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, scientific manuscript and policy report writing, and wildlife conservation and management approaches. Knowledgable in large vertebrate ecology - including animal life history and behaviour, and experienced in field data collection techniques (behavioural observations, species ID, photo ID cataloguing, GPS tracking and dive transect surveys). Interested in collaborative industry, academic, citizen science and community engagement for aiding in the collection of marine ecosystem data and protected area monitoring and management. Enjoy working in remote field locations - including St. Kilda and Fair Isle.
