Since a young age, I’ve always had a passion for nature and wildlife, and often sought out opportunities to be involved with wildlife conservation. Growing up in a small town gave me opportunities for many wildlife projects, such as raising and releasing wild game birds, such as pheasants and chukars, on the family farm. My love of all things living continued as I was led to a degree in biology, where I took as many wildlife classes as I could and participated in many mentored research opportunities. While studying at BYU I had chances to work with many projects including effects quagga mussels in Lake Powell, climate change effects on marine fish in Alaska, and surveys of Utah’s amazing natural springs in the west dessert. I hope that I continue to find amazing opportunities to be involved with the conservation of earth’s wildlife and habitats throughout my career, as well as share with others my passion for all things wild.
