Chief Engineer
CurrentResponsible for Managing a crew of 8 in the engine room and other mechanical systems and equipment aboard vessels to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including but not limited to the following: • Conduct daily safety walk thru of various boats ensuring a safe working environment • Conducts product verification inspection that verifies product conforms to contract requirements • Reviewing work specifications and other contract documents to ensure adequate quality requirements are specified • Good understanding of user requirements versus other considerations such as technical feasibility cost standardization, to determine if proposed solutions are adequate to address identified capability gaps • Apply fundamental engineering principles, practices, and theories to develop new or improved systems, advance technology, or resolve problems in assigned technical areas • Developing Inspecting System plans, instructions, and checklists to evaluate the effectiveness of the contractor’s Quality Assurance programs • Manage and directing personnel in the execution of detailed and complex technical repair procedures and processes that involves the interpreting and reading of created technical instructions, diagram, schematics and blueprints on various electro-hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems • Evaluate engineering change drawings, performance specifications, test data, and engineering design changes to provide recommendations • Provide logistical impacts of multiple technical approaches on programs in development and production • Conducts daily safety training with co-workers on Job/Personal hazard which helps to maintain a safe working environment • Operating, repairing and maintaining installed firefighting systems and equipment, damage control equipment, chemical, biological and radiological equipment
