About Ronald Bartels

Since 1996 I am staff member of department of neurosurgery of the Radboud University Medical Center specialised in spinal surgery. In 2009 I was appointed as temporary Chairman of the department of Neurosurgery of the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, followed by a non- temporary appointment in October 2010 till currently. In 2015 I was appointed as professor Neurosurgery. My activities include: clinical work, scientific activities (ORCID 0000-0002-8638-4660), education and management. In international and national societies I have been active. Currently, I am chairman of the Netherlands Society for Neurosurgery (NVvN). My clinical and scientific focus is spinal surgery and to a less account deep brain stimulation for Parkinsons’ disease. Within the departement innovative developments in neurosurgery has our main attention.
