Managing the tactical overall operations of the IT/Telecommunication engineering department. Working directly with the firm's CEO to help plan and coordinate both short-and long-term systems strategy and implementation, serving as a liaison between nontechnical business departments and IT, communicating technical information and plans and overseen the department's hiring, promotion and review processes. Also constant contact with our hardware/software vendors, backbone ISPs, VoIP peer providers and PSTN providers. In addition, overseen the overall operations of the different support departments which includes Tier1, Tier2, Tier3 and field engineers team.Network and VoIP Engineer duties include: engineering, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s core VoIP and data networks which are composed of around 40 UNIX servers, Broadsoft soft-switches, SBCs, Cisco switches, routers/PSTN gateways and firewalls. Analyzing security performance, identifying areas of concern and formulating action plans, planning, testing and executing upgrades as necessary. This also requires acting as Tier3 support engineer when troubleshooting VoIP, Metro-Es, T1s/PRIs, DS3s, ISDN, DSL, WAN/LAN or any network services issues.
