Life sometimes diverts us to a different path than what we wanted to pursue but still, I am the driver of my car. Although I may run into some bumps and get lost on the way, I will always find a way to get back on track.I was inspired to be an engineer because I am always fascinated by how things are built and how they work. My career started in the gaming industry which is different from what an engineering graduate should be doing. It took me some time to get into an engineering role in the industry of Telecommunications and was able to gain experience for eight years. Then my family and I moved to Canada and began to start a new life. I worked as a baker, a warehouse staff, and a mechanical assembler which are all different from what I wanted. I found a way to get back on track and it was through the Engineering and Technologist’s Integration Program conducted by Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN) and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Now being equipped with the right soft skills provided by EMCN and technical skills by NAIT, I am more eager and passionate to get into the engineering workforce of Canada and share what I have learned from school and past job experiences. Thanks to those past jobs because it all contributed to make me a better person, building my skills in professionalism, integrity, customer service, and being a good team-player.
