Ronald Eckart established a small architectural practice just outside Basel, in north-western Switzerland, in 1973.Between 1977 and 1982 he led the planning department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as area architect for Europe based in Frankfurt, Germany.Ronald completed a degree in Organizational Space Planning in 1982 and subsequently mastered the interface between architecture and business administration.Ronald joined the UBS AG, the premier Swiss bank, in 1982 and began building branch offices, initially in Switzerland and then internationally.Ron's key international projects were;London, Leadenhall Street and the extension of One Curzon Street,New York, extension of 299 Park Avenue as well as the redesign of 101 Park Avenue for UBS's Wealth Management DivisionThe real estate and architectural aspects of the implementation of the European Wealth Management initiative; this involved the establishment or relocation of over 40 UBS offices in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and UK in a period of five years.In addition to these projects, Ronald worked on office projects in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Israel and in the Middle East.For a decade at the turn of the century, Ron was responsible for UBS Wealth Management's global premises portfolio, led a team of professionals (architects, designers, space planners, security specialists, accountants etc.) and thereby gained experience, not only in Europe, but also in North, Central and South America as well as throughout Asia.It is with Asia that Ron has a special connection; from 1988 to 1995, he lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan and recently both his sons with their families have moved to Singapore.
