These projects include CCTV, VMS, RWIS, MVD, and wireless and fiber optic comm. systems. Responsible for the overall design management, contract plans, specifications, and documents.MassDOT, All Electronic Tolling System (AETS), I-90 Design Package 4Ron was Lead Design Engineer for the technology equipment of the AET sites in Package 4. Responsible for locating the gantries, camera poles, equipment loop layouts, and power and communication service coordination and design. Package 4 included some of the most difficult toll zones to design within the I-95 beltway loop to Boston including the Sumner and Callahan Tunnels. Fiber optic comm. and power services were designed to each site. The fully functional project was delivered on time for the go live date.Florida Turnpike Enterprise, SR 821 Florida Turnpike Managed Lanes Design-Build ProjectsITS Design Manager for the preliminary ITS design of three separate high occupancy tolling lane projects along SR 821. The projects included tolling gantries, arterial and mainline DMS, a travel time system, MVDS, an array of verification and mainline monitoring cameras, a fiber optic comm. system, and backup power generation. This project involved coordinating the equipment designs with many different entities including the Miami-Dade Expressway, the Florida Department of Transportation, and Miami-Dade County.ITS-ATMS Design-Build RFP, Sarasota County, FLManaged the development of a design-build RFP package to construct an Advanced Traffic Management System. The project included traffic signal cabinets and controllers, CCTV, and a fiber optic comm. network stretching over 40 miles for 90 signalized intersections along the local arterial roadways.

    FDOT, I-95 Managed Lanes Design-Build Project, Miami, FLEngineer-of-Record for the ITS design of the I-95 High Occupancy Tolling (HOT) Lanes project. This project included the design of 52 CCTV cameras, 37 DMS, 54 side-fired radar devices, and a toll building and gantry along I-95 between I-195 and the Golden Glades Interchange. All devices were interconnected to a fiber optic backbone and HUB equipment shelters to the Florida SunGuide Center. This project was a first of its kind for the State of Florida in which single occupancy vehicles will be allowed to travel in high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes for a fee. ITS-ATMS Design-Build RFP, Sarasota County, FLManaged the development of a DB RFP package to construct an Advanced Traffic Management System. The project consisted of new traffic signal cabinets and controllers, CCTV, and a fiber optic comm. network stretching over 40 miles for 90 signalized intersections along the local arterial roadways. VDOT, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Camera Design, Northern VirginiaLead Design Engineer for the evaluation and design of 50+ CCTV cameras installed at existing signalized intersections across Virginia. Work efforts included evaluating the traffic signal infrastructure, determining mounting locations to optimize the field of camera view, and designing power and communication connections to the new CCTV cabinets. NHDOT, I-93 Fiber Optic Cable Installation, Manchester to Concord, NHLead Engineer for the design of 19 miles of new fiber optic cable and conduit infrastructure along I-93 from Manchester to Concord, New Hampshire. This project included the design of a new fiber optic communications system that interconnects existing ITS equipment locations and a large wireless communications project in Manchester to the state TMC Concord. Complicating the design was the coordination with several ongoing I-93 design projects that were incorporating open road tolling and interchange improvements along the corridor.

Several of the projects included preliminary site selection, design, and utility identification while others include completing an RFP package for a DB contract to be issued by FDOT.MassDOT, Route 3 North Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) ProjectITS design lead for the ITS devices for the 21 mile Route 3 corridor from Rt. 128 to the NH state line. The project includes 25 CCTV, 7 DMS, 30 RTMS devices, two WIM stations, and a fiber optic comm. backbone. All the equipment will be monitored from the Regional Transportation Management Center in Boston.NHDOT, I-93 Advanced Transportation Management System, Salem to Manchester, NHAs part of a design-build team, Ron was the design task manager for the intelligent transportation system equipment being deployed along I-93, I-293, and Route 101. The project included CCTV, DMS, and variable speed limit signs. The equipment, which was deployed within active roadway reconstruction zones, required a wireless communication system and communicates through a series of wireless links constructed on the CCTV poles and cell towers between Salem and Concord.
