Field Engineer for most of Washington D.C and then, the entire Maryland Eastern Shore which consisted on 48 central offices. Performed Site Surveys & MOP (Method of Procedure) meetings with installation vendors. Engineered the placement of Central Office equipment to be used for future growth in Verizon's network. Ensured the quality of all installations within Verizon Central Offices. Provided assistance to the technicians within my Central Offices with replacement of defective equipment, cabling, etc. Had one associate clerk reporting to me who handled all vendor contractor badges and access cards. Conducted associate performance appraisals. Worked with the ATS (Asset tracking System) group as a representative for Field Engineering for all barcode issues. Was the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for all DSL engineering related issues. Attended monthly Network Build Team Meetings. Project Managed the deployment of carrier equipment within the New York 132 LATA. Managed the deployment, test and turn up of DWDM ( Dense Wave Division Multiplexers), and DCS systems (Digital Cross-Connect Systems) in the New York 132 LATA. These systems were later used to bring the network back up during the disaster recovery of 9/11/2001. I worked with various teams during the disaster recovery of 9/11/2001. Worked with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, & Access. Developed & taught an introductory course for Project Managers on how to use two databases used by the Operations Department to improve the communication between groups.

Worked in the Network Operations Center (NOC) on both the maintenance & provisioning teams. Worked as technical support on all types of transport equipment from DS0 level to OC48 signal. Turned up SONET rings for both the internal IOF department & Customer Collocation sites. Acquired a working knowledge of both Asynchronous and Digital signaling equipment.
