I supported a comprehensive, world wide, satellite and launch vehicle failure reporting database, with emphasis on high profile US hardware. I received, abstracted and coded data from program offices, such as DMSP, GPS, FSC etc. I also queried the web for current and past events related to satellite and launch vehicle failures and reviewed existing data for completeness and then updated set as required.. I initiated use of dual monitors to facilitate abstracting / copy and past. I also updated scanning and OCR to PDF procedures with purchase of a Cannon dual side scanner. Subsequent volume of scanning was contracted, allowing The Aerospace Corporation to capture and make available much historical / legacy data. Physical analyses (DPA); and Failure analyses; I coordinated Destructive Physical Analyses (DPA) on samples of incoming piece parts and prepared summary (acceptance) reports I also coordinated piece part failure analyses using instrumental analysis tools where appropriate, de-capsulation, cross sectioning, and microphotography I coordinated some of these analyses with outside vendors, where equipment and manpower were issues.
