As Director of Public affairs, responsible for the public affairs programs in the western states for AMI was one of the largest Health Care companies in America. In 1988 I became a consultant to AMI and other hospital companies from 1988 to 1992 under the company name of Weinberger Fox and Easum. Our mission was to assist hospitals and medical centers in gaining Certificate of Needs and construction permits for hospitals in an expedited fashion from state agencies.

As Staff Director, oversaw the republican viewpoint on the State's annual budget. Engaged in working with the majority staff and with the Governor's office to deal with fiscal issues that faced the state. I also served as the Assistant to the Minority Whip the Minority Leader and then as the committee staff to the Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments. As Administrative Assistant in the Senate, I oversaw the Capitol and district staff for the State Senator representing the 35th District. I began my career with the Senator when he was an Assemblyman, first as an intern in 1972 and then as the Senior Administrative Assistant in 1975.
