During my internship, I was involved in several projects:Live Oak Bank Project Modeling: I modeled a composite mass timber system in Dlubal RFEM 6, a finite element software. I utilized data collected from in-situ testing to execute a comparative analysis of the system’s vibration performance to that of Dlubal's model.Conceptual Design Development: I developed the most cost-effective conceptual designs of glulam beams, cross-laminated timber panels, and a glulam Tudor arch sizing for pursuit projects.Design Optimization: I optimized and created an in-house design spreadsheet for Glulam Beam and CLT floor penetration reinforcing, adhering to the New Zealand Guide and APA Standard.

In my internship, I conducted comprehensive design checks of timber beams and girders and carried out detailed design of connections. I also performed building code inspections for residential decks, footings, and foundations in accordance with IBC 2018, ASCE 7-16, and AISC 15.I took on the responsibility of evaluating the structural integrity of historical renovations. To do this, I utilized a self-fabricated Excel sheet for shear and moment calculations.Additionally, I mapped the structural layout of existing buildings, which were then recreated in AutoCAD.

This internship served as a part time intern role from December 2022 to January 2023.In my role, I gained hands-on experience in the field by shadowing superintendents to conduct safety inspections and participate in subcontractor meetings on-site. I was assigned to the excavation and construction of a new public elementary school. I also focused on subcontracting for the project.Similarly to the summer prior, I was responsible for maintaining records and creating key documents such as RFIs and Submittals for the construction of a new elementary school.

In my role as a project engineer intern, I gained hands-on experience in the field by shadowing superintendents to conduct safety inspections and participate in subcontractor meetings on-site. I was assigned to a variety of projects, including a tilt-up warehouse extension, the close-out of an elementary school,In the office, I was responsible for maintaining records and creating key documents such as RFIs, Submittals, and Scope of Work contracts. I contributed to the preconstruction bid of lockers for a new middle school.One of the significant challenges I tackled involved scheduling the phasing of a parking lot re-pavement at a 24/7 manufacturing plant.
