The Digital Media Producer is at the helm of BBC Media Action’s digital media outputs, including their online platforms. He/she is entrusted with developing and strengthening BBC Media Action’s social media presence to best meet the needs of our audience.The Digital Media Producer understands the technical and creative potential of digital media platforms and can ensure BBC Media Action output on these platforms meets BBC editorial standards. He/she is also able to responsibly manage the WhatsApp channels, sourcing and broadcasting appropriate content. Working across all BBC Media Action programmes, the Digital Media Producer also works closely with all Producers and Assistant Producers to ensure social media content is timely, relevant and engaging. The Digital Media Producer will be based in BBC Media Action’s Freetown office. The Producer will be managed by the Senior Production Manager.Main Duties:• To produce regular content for BBC Media Action’s social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Twitter,• To develop and source a range of audio, visual and text-based material for these platforms, while exercising editorial judgement and maintaining professional journalistic standards,• To use a range of skills and techniques to produce content, working alongside the production team; this may include recording and editing audio, recording and editing video, using graphic design software and taking photos,• To understand the differing audiences and uses of these social media platforms and produce content accordingly,• To advise and guide the production team to ensure BBC Media Action’s social media output is timely, engaging and relevant,• To ensure the WhatsApp subscriptions are managed and up to date and ensure responsible management of the WhatsApp phone,• To share data / audience engagement on social media platforms with production team and to encourage production team to regularly

The Production Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the production of all programmes. He/she will help across several areas of work, including setting up and maintaining systems to support editorial quality, planning and logistics, and reporting. The role will also act as a key point of contact between members of the production team and external groups and individuals. The Production Assistant is an enthusiastic individual who enjoys being part of a team and is keen to learn. The Production Assistant will be able to prioritise their tasks in a busy working environment and will use his/her own initiative to support the radio production(s) wherever needed. The Production Assistant will understand high editorial standards and how to implement them in programme output. The Production Assistant will be based in the BBC Media Action office in Freetown but travel to the provinces may be required. MAIN DUTIES• To conduct relevant content research online and through a range of other sources in order to inform programme content.• To assist the production staff in summarising information, writing briefings, and inviting programme guests and audience members. • To help set up the programme recording venues and check the equipment is functioning well before recording starts.• To assist the Producer during the recording of the programme. This may involve marshalling the audience, managing the guests and providing the presenter with information, among other tasks.• To assist the Presenter(s) by providing them with the information they need to familiarise themselves with topics and profiles of studio guests before the broadcast. • To set up and maintain a database of contacts for the programmes.• To inform local radio stations about the topic of the programme every episode and encourage them to trail the programme a day before broadcast.• To attend editorial meetings and contribute to content ideas and guests for the programmes.

Responsible to plan, develop & produce weekly episodes of the Airtel football special TV show which was aired on national TV. Managed and produced contents for the online platforms.
